Happy Valentines Day my lovelies! I love, love. Which I would say is a rather good thing, as its part of my job description. These two are my wonderful, amazing, and gorgeous friends. And they graciously volunteered to model for me. These two are real love birds... which I think is quiet obvious in the photos. I have never done a photo shoot with this many props- or props at all. And I struggled.. haha you can ask them.

So thank you Brittany and Brian. (yeah aren't there names cute together). I love both of you.

And all of you lovely people who have followed my blog.

Second shooting.

I think I was born to be a second shooter. Yes someday I really do want to have my own Wedding Photography business. But for right now, I would love love love to just be the back up girl. The girl who gets to run around holding bouquets, and umbrellas. Snapping shots from a different angle. And capturing moments like this.
These two are HILARIOUS, and I couldn't help but post these ones- because they are kind of my favorites.

Brittany & Stuart Monson: Married!

Okay, so this post is literally a month late. And my only excuse is that I had no pressure. This is my best friend Brittany (now Monson), and her husband Stuart. I really got to know Stuart when I took their engagements, and it was so much fun. So I'm not sure why I was so surprised when their wedding day was just as much fun. I was asked to get one shot to print right away and have at the reception, so that is what I did...well and I took a few more. So it was pressure free, and just loads of fun.
Here are my favorites of the two, all lovely and married.
Congrats you two. I love you and I'm beyond happy for you. Can't wait till you start having babies!! :)

This is my dear friend, neighbor, and fellow nutella enthusiast. Emily Schild. Love this girl.
We decided to take some photos for her loved one. And it was so much fun!! We even had a lovely assistant. Which was excellent since it was raining the ENTIRE time. Luckily we were able to keep Emily dry, but me and Carol were a little damp. So grateful to have Carol to hold the umbrella over my camera. This was a fun challenge for me, and I'm SO happy with the results. Take a look...

New Mexico for the Holidays.

New Mexico has been wonderful, it's my first time here. And it is charming, in its own way.
Just got a check up at the doctors here, and got some blood work done. And the woman drawing my blood called me baby girl, and told me that I shouldn't keep trying to donate blood. Because I have tiny veins. She said she was using the same needle she uses on infants. haha So I guess my donating days are over.

Jessica & Cody Crippen: Engaged!

Jessica, Cody, and I ran out one day a took a couple engagements. They had already taken some but they wanted a couple more. And sadly we only have light for a couple.

I love these two. Jessica, is my stunningly beautiful roommate. And Cody is her dashing fiance. They got engaged, pretty much like a day after I met them. And it has been so much fun getting to know them as a couple. They are SO SO SO much fun. I just love it when they are around. Cody is hilarious and makes us all laugh, but especially Jessica. And I think it shows in these pictures. Here are the few that we got.

Sneak Peek

I'm excited, dare I say ecstatic, to announce the engagement of the stunningly beautiful Brittany Hancock, to the dashingly handsome Stuart Monson!! Stuart is living in Portland Oregon right now, and Brittany is out here with me at school. So they are rocking a long distant engagement. These two are just so in love when you see them together, and it was my pleasure to capture it Friday afternoon.
I texted her in the morning, and said "I'm so excited for your engagements today!" And Brittany responded "I can't believe I'm taking engagements today!!!"
Brittany is one of my best friends, and it is makes me so happy to see her THIS happy.

It's been a while.

This always happens. I get sucked into school. And forget to do things that make me happy. Okay so I'm mainly talking about Photography. I still eat plenty of ice cream and watch a ton of movies. But I haven't used my camera in like 2 weeks. But the one time I did bring it out, we went to the Hari Krishna temple, in Spanish Fork UT. And it was gorgeous. The temple is amazing, and I obviously love the Indian culture....to bad there were only a total of like five Indians there. And it was "Indian Fest," Beaverton has clearly spoiled me. Well since it has been a while I just wanted to say hello, and that I dearly miss you all. :)

Camden (snarky) Hardy

Snarky is Camden's new middle name haha. So this is half a joke, and half for reals. Camden is one of my best friends, and now my roommate- so I can say this. She has a slightly snarky attitude. But mainly snarky is just the best word ever. She is also the most caring person I know. And oddly someone that I had never photographed before now. So this was an extra treat for me. I have forced all my other friends to model, time after time. So it was odd I had never shot Camden. And look at what all of you were missing! haha

Boys will be boys.

Here are some more of my favorites of these boys. I love them dearly, and loved every moment with them.

I mean really look at the chubby cheeks on Baby Matthew, and Bridger is the most caring child I have ever met. Seriously, he gets very concerned if any other child is crying. He is just like me, a sympathetic crier. Also there may be a couple of a distraught Matthew in this mix, but how could I resist. Baby Matthew often gets so tired that he can never make up his mind if he is happy or sad. So he will get this face, where he is about ready to cry, and then I'll make a silly noise or face and make him laugh. Then 10 seconds later he will get the face again, and start crying. Then laughing, then crying. It's basically my favorite thing. haha

Bailey Family

Meet the Bailey's.They are my family now. I lived with them this last month, and was their live in Nanny. And it was literally the best situation possible. I got to play with these cuties all day, and then chill with the coolest parents I know, at night. While getting to eat Jen's delicious food. This first child is Bridger, I have been his nanny (on and off) since he was 18 months old. He is now 3, and although he has an attitude, his big heart and adorable smile make me forever every time. Then next to him is Baby Matthew, he is 6 months old! He is just a big chubs, and I love him. Then you can meet Jen and Scott, seriously two of the most accomplished, funny, and just all around awesome people I know.

Thank you, Jen and Scott for letting me into your family. I loved every minute of it.

Married at last. Mr. & Mrs. Lowrey

I was so excited when she asked me to come. Or more told her dad that I was coming, while I was in the room. Raven was my roommate last semester, and I already miss her. But she now has a cooler roommate/ Husband. (Is it weird for anyone else that Andy is a Husband?!) Andy and Raven graciously invited me to their destination wedding to take photos of Raven getting ready and at their reception dinner, with all the friends and family.

I just realized I should take a second and explain how LDS weddings work. (p.s. I'm LDS- for anyone who reads this and didn't know). So for our ceremonies, they are inside our temples, and no camera's are allowed. Because of how sacred the ceremony is, it then becomes just about the Husband and Wife being sealed together for all of eternity.

And now they are sealed to one another, forever. And it's just so exciting. I know I raved about this couple before when I posted their engagements. But let me just say again how cute they are. And it was so great to see them celebrate this love with friends and family.

Raven and Andy, I'm so happy to have been included on this special day. I love you too, and am so excited for you two to have children! :)

This family. SO fun. We spent the evening downtown, Portland. During our short time together we, crashed a roof top party, almost stole a lady's stool, and did some epic people watching. I also asked them to stand there smiling while inhaling the smell of delicious pizza. It was real mean of me. haha. But worth it, I mean really. Look at this handsome family.

This is the first senior photos that I have done, for a guy. So I gave Jordan fair warning, that if I ever asked him to do anything girly to just remind me. haha And what a stud, Jordan made it easy. I mean really, look at this smile. This is Jordan, he is a SENIOR at Westview High School. I cannot believe it, this makes me feel old. He is the same age as my baby sister, and they will forever be12 years old. In my mind at least. But he isn't!! He is off to do great things. So watch out world.

Oh I'm just so excited about this engagement. I do this weird thing, where I fall in love with couples. Given I already was in love with Megan, but the two together is just extra special. I met Megan in Middle School (wow). Then in high school we were super legit, dancers on the Westview Wildthings. :) And because of various reasons, Megan is simply the best. Jon had the pleasure of meeting this lovely lady in highschool... and together they have been ever since.
So pleased to introduce you to the High School Sweethearts!!

Julene Davidson. Seniors. (GED)

My sister is drop dead gorgeous. I don't like to admit this fact very often as I don't want her to get a big head...and fall over. :) But she really is.

She is also the best sister a girl could ask for, and is also my favorite. (Don't worry I only have one sister and can say that). Last year she decided to go big, and drop out of high school. She has since gotten her GED, and finished a year of college. So to celebrate her getting her GED, we did GED photos. Instead of Senior photos.

Julene- I had a blast in Vail with you. I love you, and truly do appreciate having you as a sister. And can't wait till I see you next! Try not to break tooo many hearts!

Many of you have probably already seen these on facebook. But I thought I would add these beautiful people to my blog as well. This was my favorite project! For my class I had to write up an artist statement. Which is scary because I have only recently started considering myself an artist. But I thought I would just add that. As it explains my project pretty well.

Artist Statement:
Ad after ad, we are constantly bombarded with ways to become more beautiful. Ways to improve the way we look, and in relation the way we feel. These messages are combined with the world telling us to be more humble, never be too proud. But who is there to tell us that we are beautiful, and should be proud of that fact. Being single in this society involves a lot, we are asked to look good, smell good, have good taste in music, and be constantly working in both a job, as well as in the gym.
My series includes photographs of people who are beautiful, just the way they are. As I photographed each person I asked them for both their best physical attribute and their best personality attribute. For some the first question was easier than the second, and others the second was much easier than the first. And some practically refused to answer the questions at all. The most common response was “well what do you think?” And I had to kindly explain that it was part of the project, and crucial I did not answer for them. I added the personality trait word, on to each print. As I think so often in photographs we miss parts of peoples personality as a photo only captures one single moment in a person’s life. And it was funny to see how often the personality trait didn’t so much match the photograph. My hope was to be able to show that it is okay, even good to be proud, confident, and even boastful about you sometimes. We are all beautiful and should not have to be told that by others.

the BUS

So I just finished what will probably be my last official Photography class. And I'm totally bummed about it. But I know I'll keep learning on my own. One of my projects was a semester long project. And it was fun/ difficult/ mainly stressful. We had to find something that interested us and take pictures of it all semester long. From the same angle getting it in different lighting and seasons. I kind of failed at this project, because I shot like 5 all semester and the remaining 6 in the last week of school. But what really got me stressed is for my project I decided to shot the Taco Bus I lived next to. Its painted all crazy, and parked next to my favorite abandon- looking house. So I started, forgot, and then one day I was driving by looked over at the Taco Bus, and it was GONE! Yes I should have realized that was a possibility when shooting an object with wheels. But I didn't think they would actually do it. But they did. So I freaked out, luckily my teacher is SUPER chill and let me just continue in the new location.
Turns out he loved mine, and even had me email it to him (so he can use it as an example in later classes).

And guess what I love mine too. I might even eventually hang it up somewhere. Maybe a Garage...when I get a garage.

Today was a beautiful day, it rained on our way into church and by the time we were down. It was a bright sunny day. And at Sunset this double rainbow happened. Yesterday was Zachary's birthday. Zach is one of my best friends. He is so wonderful.

For example, today in the most whiny voice possible I said "Oh no, she opened the door now I'm cold." Because my roommate had just left the apartment leaving the door open with her. And Zach (who was in another room) came back into the living room carrying my favorite blanket like a knight in shining armor. And without saying a word handed me a blanket with a smile and walked away.

THAT my friends is why Zachary is the BEST!

and its why my two awesome roommates were so willing to make him such a legit cake. Zach is a computer nerd, or should I say Apple nerd, because he is very racist when it comes to computers. (yeah I know, racist isn't the right word...but toooo late.) Anyways so they made him this Apple Cake!! And I love it, and he loved it, and it was perfect.

Today I went to my Best Friend Zach's work party. And it was super fun. I always loved going to work with my dad, and getting a tour from Zach of his work took me down memory lane. And I loved it.

They had a work picnic at the Boss Man's house, and his house is amazing. And has an in ground trampoline. So these two took turns "jumping" on the trampoline. Then the little boy fell, and we thought he had a bloody nose...so Jordan went to check out his nose. And then the little boy saw Jordan's nose piercing and tried to tell him that he had something on his nose. It was an awesome moment. And this second photo is just an awesome photo.

Today we had a Nerf gun fight, and it was awesome. Except for the fact that we only have one gun. So we really just took turns shooting each other... which was still SUPER fun!

G's Dairy. It has somehow become a weekly tradition. At the beginning of the semester we made a goal to go work out everyday except Fridays. But that goal hasn't really stuck, instead we go to G's at least once a week. And normally don't work out the day that we go. It's great.
This photo is especially great because a. It was Nico's first trip to G's. And b. Kayla hates being fed so her expression was perfect.

This is a total facebook photo. Which I'm normally against. Except a. this one is pretty cute. And b. I was just so happy to be out flying kites I couldn't help but document it. Plus since this is a photo I technically took, I'm using it as today's photo. This is Morgan, she is such a good roommate!!! I love her so much, and I love it when we are hyper together. Today we went out and flew the kites we bought ages ago. And it was epic. We even did a little kite runner, and tried cutting each others strings. It was legit.

Today is the first day of my daily photo Journal, which I will be doing for the next two weeks. Each day I will be post a photo of something meaningful in my life. And all the photos will just be of things that naturally occur in my life.

Today I took a photo of my favorite t.v.
I say favorite because this is the only one that has this much character. It is tiny, but it has a mustache and glasses. It also only played movies in black and white at the beginning of the semester. But now it works perfectly and in color.
And I watch movies, almost daily on it.
And its great.

These two are my favorite. Favorite couple, and just some of my favorite people. They are both hilarious, especially when they are together. Their love is expressed in silly smiles, and sweet kisses.
I love capturing love, but I have especially loved observing their relationship unfold. I'm so grateful they asked Marcus and me to take their engagement photos. Marcus had the brilliant idea of doing some at the sand dunes. The lighting was magical, and it so much fun.
After such an epic proposal, I was stressed about getting awesome shots.
I really wanted to capture the fun and loving nature of their relationship. While making them feel comfortable enough to express it in front of not only one, but two cameras. Raven is natural born model, but Andy was more hesitant. But I'm happy to report that Andy actually likes my photos!!! And that is all that ever matters.

Lane and Marcus

What are friends for, other than modeling for you? I honestly don't know. Because I feel like thats the only thing I use my friends for. Just kidding. But for reals, I do have the best friends.
Lane Edmunds is the best, he just said "yes" when Marcus asked him if he wanted to model for me. And I'm so grateful, I normally just shoot girls, which is somewhat easier. But Lane was a dream, so nice, and fairly comfortable in front of the camera.
And Marcus well he is ALSO the best. :) He even let me use his lens!!! I have a nicer camera body than Marcus but his lens are like 100 times better than mine, so it doesn't even matter. Someday I'll get my own. :)

The Proposal.

I've known Andy for something like two years now, and I've never seen him this nervous. Or nervous at all. But today he looked like a little boy about to have his first kiss, and I know this was not their first kiss. He planned everything, down to the exact spot to kneel down. He tested out both knees, did a few dances and then headed out to get the girl.

Andy is a light programmer at school (meaning he sets/ programs the lights for all the shows on campus) so he programmed the lights for this big moment. The plan was to bring her in to the auditorium where he had a single flashing light on the middle of the stage. He planned on walking in, bringing her on stage and then leaving her to go "check out" the mysterious light. But when they got there she clung onto his arm and wouldn't let go because, honestly it was a freaky scene. Andy being a pretty determined guy basically ran away for her, so that the plan would work. The lights went black, and returned with a spot light, Andy on one knee, and a completely shocked Raven. He proposed, she said "Yeah". And then they slow danced, and kissed as our friend Micheal played an original piece.

It was magical, and made us all tear up.

My favorite part was Raven's response, she went from being scared, to shocked, to the happiest girl in the world. Raven is my new friend and roommate, and she is literally the coolest girl ever.

I'm so happy for you two. Thanks for letting me capture this special moment.

Preview: Of the Lovely Kayla

Kayla Ann used to be my only model. And she is the best because of that. She put up with so much from me, and did it with a smile. It's been a long time since I last shoot Kayla, toooo long. :) So we went on a little adventure and took some really good ones (in my opinion).
Kayla is my favorite because she is so full of attitude, and they really show in photos. Also we have the same sense of humor so it's easy to make her laugh. Which makes me laugh, and makes for a bunch of blurry photos. But this one I kind of like, like a lot. Normally this would drive me crazy, because literally nothing is in focus, but that's also kind of why I like it.

So yesterday I decided I wanted to make a video...so that is just what I did! Me and Julene went out and and shot till she was late for mutual. And then I quickly edited this short film. I didn't even remember I had a YouTube account, but I totally do. Who knew?! It's even called shortfilmstallpeople. Love it. haha

Okay well this is very quickly edited, and poorly shot. But since I have video capabilities, I thought I should really use them better! So my plan is to practice, practice, practice.

Also you might think "Martha, there is a part in the video that is sideways."

the answer is yes, there is. Because I want to remember how dumb I am, for filming so much that direction- while I know that you cant rotate video. So its a visual learning experience.

Yesterday was also TOMS "A Day Without Shoes"...so the video is kind of a tribute to that. Even though I totally wore shoes to work.

Meagan Stutz. Senior

So if you don't know Meagan, you are really missing out. This girl is so fun, and always on the move. She is constantly Google searching animals, and then finding ones to adopt. And then finding me animals to adopt. :) Basically she is a lover, not a fighter. And I love that about her.

Meagan, Ellen, and I went downtown early Tuesday (since I had to be at my other job by 10) and it was freezing. Luckily Meagan was such a good sport, and still worked it.

Deirdre and I have been friends since High school. She is for sure one of the coolest people I know. She knows what she wants and goes after it. Dee designed and made each of these outfits. Sneak Peek

Julene and I went on a great adventure...to my backyard yesterday. And took a few pictures. I found this fan, while packing up somethings. (My Family is moving to New Mexico- for anyone who hasn't heard).
And I had a vision, and knew my sister would be the one to pull it off for me. We didn't have much time- as she had class, and the sun was setting. But I'm happy with how they turned out. And it was super fun. Besides the fact that I dropped a cinder block on my toe in the first two minutes of shooting.

Little Wins.

I recently told a friend to celebrate the little things in life. And then realized I don't do that enough. So I decided to celebrate a very little thing. Tonight I got home from a long day at work, showered off and got ready for the day. Because getting ready for work and the rest of the day are very different things. So I straightened my hair, put on my favorite jeans, and my new shirt. I know Crazy, right.
But my little celebration was the fact that the shirt I was wearing was purchased (indirectly) from money I made from Photography. I really have not turned Photography into a profit, so even the small profits from Photography are so awesome.
So in celebration of my little win, I took a picture- of myself. :)
Tonight I didn't really go out, only to go pick up some dinner for me and my mom to enjoy at home. But its always a good day when I feel cute. So I love feeling cute, regardless if I have a reason to. I suggest dressing up for yourself to everyone.

Luna's first Snow Day

Today I woke up to a winter wonderland, and it was a bitter sweet feeling. Sweet because obviously, it was super sweet that it was so snowy and beautiful out. And bitter because I knew I still had to go to that evil place I call work. (I also occasionally call this my second home- so I obviously don't hate it). So I woke up admired the snow, and then got ready for work. With a few minutes to spare, I skipped breakfast for a more important task. Photographing Luna's first real snow day!! Which is not really exciting, because Luna is just my new car, and I'm not sure real people even document their children's first snow days, but I felt it was appropriate. She just looked so good with a little snow on her. (and I mainly wanted to take some pictures, for the sake of taking pictures).
These were taken before the sun came up at 5:30am this morning...so the lighting is from a street lamp, and is a little freaky.

All my Books have arrived. And now its just a matter of using self restraint, to read them in an orderly manner. I started The Help before the others arrived. So I've determined I need to finish that first, and then move on to the others. But I've stacked them all up next to my bed, and am now using them as a table to the side- of my bedside table. Since I already have a bedside table, its just way higher than my bed.
I also have just been wanting to shoot for over a week now, and decided I can't keep waiting for sun, or a subject, or free time. I just have to do it. My relationship with my camera is just like any other relationship. If I let toooo long pass by in between seeing each other, things get awkward and I forget things about her (Yes I've decided my camera is a girl). So I'm working on our relationship, whilst enjoying maximum fun reading time. I know it wont last!

Faith, Hope, Love and Family

I'm so grateful to have been invited to share these two days with the Piepgrass family. Because of great loss, a family was brought together and was able to share precious time together. The sweet Mother, Grandmother, Sister, and Daughter Dottie Piepgrass passed away several weeks ago. And I was able to capture a few moments of the family together. We decided to meet at The Portland Oregon Temple, for pictures and it was the perfect day. As one of the family members stated, the perfect weather was truly a blessing from Dottie.

You are missed, and loved Dottie.

Thank You Piepgrass family, it was a blessing to see your faith and love.

A little adventure.

Today as requested by the ever fabulous Emily...I'm blogging. I came home from work and shouted to my mom "Going shooting", and headed outside. Today is a beautifully sunny day in Oregon...but the second I stepped outside I wished I hadn't. But I knew I had to go shoot something, for Emily. But mainly for me. I need to keep shooting daily. I've seen my progression in just the last 4 months, from pushing myself to shoot daily. But I've completely lost this "habit", so although I'm not promising everyday. I'm promising more often.
So since I knew I couldn't walk farther than my own backyard...that is what I did. I went into my backyard and like the "good ole days", I climbed (yes literally climbed) down my back wall and went into the wet lands behind my house. Because I live in Oregon they have required "green" areas. And I love it. My friend lived just across the stream so we built bridges, on top of bridges, and forts and all sorts of non sense in those wet lands. Which are really not that big. But we thought it was the most daring, awesome, and entertaining thing around. So here is my journey back down memory lane...or stream.
I even got my brand new Keds all muddy. Just like the old days.

Jasmine Star Workshop

I honestly don't know how to start. This journey began months ago with an email...and a whim. Well I wouldn't say whim. I have wanted to go to a Jasmine Star workshop for years, now. But on a chance I applied, thinking I wouldn't get the spot. Then I did. And with support from my ever supportive father he said go. And I did.

Just the idea that I was going to the workshop gave me motivation to kick my photography into gear. And then the day before leaving for California, I felt sick. I thought to myself what have I gotten myself into. I'm such a baby compared to all these expert photographers. I worried, and worried till I met them. We then talked photo talk. And I understood.
Then it was Monday, and I put on my best outfit (from Target) and went. Notebook in one hand and camera in the other. And I sat, wrote, learned, and was inspired.
Jasmine has a way of making you feel like you have known each other forever. I felt comfortable to fail in front of her. She told us from the beginning of the day that she was going to push us, and that is just what she did. I really have learned SO much from the workshop. Now its just a matter of applying all that I have learned.
So Thank You Jasmine, JD, and all my new amazingly talented Photo friends. I will be eternally grateful for the things you have all taught me.

So who knew that Blogger had a limit on Photo storage? Not Martha.
So I'm currently in the process of figuring out if I need a new blog, or need to just buy some blogger space...or I have no idea really. But in the mean time, were just going to use up my Flickr- until that fills up as well.

Edited more tonight. I get so sucked in, I loose track of time. But editing is becoming easier, and thus faster.
I made three copies of this particular photo. Not sure which I like best...still figuring out my style.

I kind of love the last one. But I also hate it when people over edit photos...hmm.

Thank Goodness for Noise Reduction!

Remember me telling you about that failed photo shoot downtown...well I think the lesson I really needed to learn is to just keep shooting. I wish I had just taken more. But I didn't I just got stuck and frustrated and threw a fit. Anyways I wanted everyone to meet these wonderful gorgeous friends of mine...that put up with all my fits!

Its a New Year. And I think its time for some changes. I'm way to sloppy with my photography, I'm to lazy with my blogging, and I'm not pushy enough with advertising myself. So I'm going to work on all those things this year. As well as figure out some really solid ideas of what the rest of my schooling is going to look like.

Today I went downtown with the girls, it was freezing but they all came with me (dressed adorable) and I took a few photos. Now normally I love doing stuff like this, I love just making my friends laugh and pose and do fun things. But today I had a freak out. I was producing super dark photos, and I couldn't figure out how to change it. After much frustration (and a little whining) I figured out my light meter was off. And then I tried changing it but it wasn't actually changing it, and after a whole lot more frustration, and whining I figured it out. Just a little to late. We had already run to Powell for shelter from the cold. And although the lighting inside Powell's was surprisingly good, it wasn't as magical as those overcast skies I was shooting in. So I gave up and tried to just focus on having a fun day downtown. And I believe it was a success, the girls were even patient enough with me to let me shoot a few more of them in Powell's. We then did lunch at a restaurant Kayla and I had been dying to try. And that was a total success also. So win win. I still love my downtown, and I still love my Camera...even though I realized today how much I don't know about it.

So although i just said I was going to work on being less lazy in my blogging...that is going to have to start tomorrow or maybe Monday. Because I haven't uploaded todays photos just yet. But here are a few (not yet edited) I took last weekend at the Coast.

Kat Constandse : Bridal Session

Kat is Married! I had the honor of attending her reception last night, which was beautiful. Just last week I have the opportunity to take her Bridals, and I think they turned out GREAT! She is absolutely stunning, and a born model. So it was easy, and most of all FUN! Alexis Wood, and Brittany Carson came along so I had lots of help making her look super hot! Katherine and I took a Photography class at school together, so it was so nice of her to let me practice with her for such a special moment. Congratulations Kat and Andrew, I hope you like them! And I hope you enjoyed your honeymoon!

Looking through old photos. And a little stressed and distraught that I can't find so many of them. I think I huge section of my life/ photos are missing. And I'm worried. Luckily I put practically EVERYTHING on Facebook. But my high quality images are probably gone, forever.

But since I have been digging... and yes this is literal because my photo files are a disaster. I just found pictures I have been looking for, for a little over... forever. And found them hiding in a little folder that also has photos of a church event. Who knew.

Tonight Kayla and I had a girl date. I started the day with the plan to go to institute, but slowly institute became movies in my favorite work out pants, and then Kayla convinced me (easily) to go downtown. And I'm oh so glad she did. We got completely lost..well not lost...just really not where we wanted to be. But we finally got the right cross streets and finally found it. We did some shopping (like always) and then got dinner at an adorable- high class- grocery store. I don't think it could ever replace my WINCO but winco doesn't have attractive people working there. This store FOR SURE did. :) We had a healthy and balanced meal of Cascade Ice, and mashed potatoes (1 lb) of them. haha And then we completed the meal with some Cinnamon Buns, Ben and Jerry's Ice cream. It was divine.
But the guy who rung us up- twice. Totally judged us. haha Its fine.

Look how happy we are. Isn't THAT what matters.

I can't really decide how I feel about that middle photo. I should have walked across the street to photograph that sweet bug properly...but it was a BIG street. :)

MERRY CHRISTMAS FOLKS!

So just warning in the upcoming weeks, I'm just going to enjoy having friends and family around. I'll be shooting, but probably not post as much.

Took pictures at our Ward Christmas Party last night. Had a blast, but my absolute favorites are these screaming baby pictures (which were surprisingly only a few children).

Although I have only looked at a handful of them- this is my favorite so far.

Okay Folks I'm changing the rules, I'm going to post a photo a day. But any photo I want. Not necessarily taken that day, and it might be from the same group as another day. Yes I'll still try to take and post one photo a day. But this is now affecting my sleep schedule which is not cool. So today's photo(s) is going to be from last Saturday. Because I'm just now getting around to looking at all the ones I took that day. And I did nothing impressive in the photography world today.
I am working hard at a. Learning more about my camera.
b. Learning and trying things on Photoshop
and c. shooting regularly.

I love it when Laura ask's me to babysit. The Blattner Boys are the BEST! Tonight we had a blast, and then I realized it was bed time, and I so I tried to calm them down, but I myself couldn't stop laughing. So we just continued the party while we brushed teeth and read the scratch and sniff Christmas Book. Then I just turned off the light hoping they were tired enough. ehh....that worked for like 2 minutes. haha
Adian proceeded to come down stairs saying he was hunger and that he needed a granola bar. I said that will only make you more hyper. And he said, "It wont make me more hunger, you said hyper when you meant hunger." And I said, "Nope I really mean hyper." And Aidan asked me what that meant and I really just wanted to walk into the bathroom and show him his reflection. But I didn't. :)

We just added this handy dandy table to my room. Since there is NOTHING else in it. However now I just have a spot to set, EVERYTHING. So my room is a mess. And I have little motivation to clean it. I have been learning. Reading my manual every night. And I re-learned how to quickly use my burst mode. So I had Julene hold down the button and I quickly made this video. Kind of fun.
I also got to open a Christmas Present early. It was a flash diffuser, and its super fun! Can't wait to really try it out at the ward Christmas Party this weekend. I hate Flash photography...but this makes it a LOT better.

REMEMBER THIS DAY!
Today I found out that I'm going to the one, the only Jasmine Star's workshop. This January I will be joining Jasmine and 19 other people for a day of photography! This has been something I have wanted to do for a long time now. And it was just some distant goal, but then I just went for it. And now I'm going. So now I have to push myself. Extra hard. So I'm going to need everyone's support. And all the practice I can get.
I already know that I'm going to be the youngest and least experienced there. So now I need to make that gap smaller!
I was going to do my photo of the day of my face when I saw the email, personally from Jasmine. But that would be a recreation, and I feel like thats kind of lame. haha So my photo of the day is of decorating the Christmas Tree. I love decorating the TREE!

This is part of my daily life. It defines my life when I'm home, regardless of how sad that may be. But Great Harvest is one of my favorite places in Oregon. I work with my friends, and now family. Its been a consistent part of my life and I love it that way. I know the customers, the product, and the owners. What could be better.

So my photo of the day was taken there. And this one (even though it is kind of weird) has the colors of the store. The photo is of the mess made by rolling out our delicious sugar cookies. And I love the color of our kneading table, especially with flour sprinkled all over it.

Today I'm Thankful that I live in such a beautiful state, and that I have wonderful friends and family that constantly surround me.
This Thanksgiving was wonderful, delicious, and so much fun.

I'm just going to lie to all of you, and tell you I'm doing an indoor series this week. All photos will be taken late at night, inside my humble abode, stretching my very small amount of creativity to its limits. Because that seems to be the only time I can remember the one goal I have. Seriously I don't really have any other goals right now.
(okay another lie... marriage, college, children, painting a giant picture) are all goals still inside of me. Just less urgent.

Tonight it is shadow puppets/ random shape shadows. Because me and Julene (Julene and I) really struggled with forming actual animals. But it led to many giggles...so enjoy.

I've always loved creating hand puppets, so next time you're bored- done with studying- or on a cute little date. Get comfy and make some sweet shadow puppets.

POPCORN EMOTIONS!

I once again forgot till the last second tonight. So luckily I have an awesome friend to remind me.
Kayla to the rescue. We made popcorn for our movie. And I just started taking pictures of her eating it. Then we decided to do different faces when watching movies. So here they are. And if you have never watched a movie with Kayla....these are legit. This is real life. :)

NEW SHOES!

and what is better than that. So my new babies are my photo of the day. I went for a short "run" outside this morning- with my camera. Mainly so I could wear my cute new shoes and jacket!!! Don't judge. :)

Also not sure why...but none of the colors are not right when I upload it on to here. But its more colorful I swear, when I look at it on my computer.

Today I had assistances which almost made things more struggl-ie because I felt like I needed to do something cooler. And changing your lens in the rain is fairly difficult. So Thank You Kayla, and Julene.

It has now been documented, November 17th was a Rainy Day.

RESULTS!

If you haven't seen Angus Thongs, I highly recommend it.

But after something good happens/ her plan works and she gets "results". The main character always yells "RESULTS". And I just love it.

And since I'm afraid of the G word (goal), and mainly failing to achieve them. I have decided I'm going for RESULTS.

and I'm trying to take and post a photo a day. Which I have tried and failed at doing a thousand times before. But today I almost forgot but then remembered. So I'm doing this. And since it is 11:44 at night and I have no natural light, and nothing beautiful to photograph I just sent for silly.

This is a little taste of my current life as a nursery teacher- I love it.

so obviously don't get to excited/ expect anything from this uh- project. Its just because practice makes perfect (ish).

I can't decide if this fund should be to pay for going to one of her workshops or just for her to shoot my wedding. Either way, I've got to start saving today. Does this sound crazy, because I honestly don't believe it is. Let me justify myself with my top 5 reasons I need Jasmine Star to shoot my wedding.

5. I NEED to look/ feel/ be this beautiful on my wedding day.

and then I need to learn how to do that for people....because that is why I want to do wedding photography.

Rain.

I love the rain, and I wasn't even born in Oregon.
My favorite thing about the rain is that it somehow has the magical power of giving you full permission to dance, full on... in it.
But my second favorite thing about the rain is...using my windshield wipers. I don't know how to exactly describe it. But my favorite thing is having the wipers set to the exact speed required to get that feeling of blurred vision until you almost feel like you have lost control and can't see anything anymore- to sudden clarity. Its a brilliant feeling. I recommend everyone learns how to control the speed of their windshield wipers.
Third favorite thing is how everyone rushes about in the rain, but only till they are undercover then they pause, take of their hood, shake out the umbrella, or wipe of there now spotted glasses.
And then you have a instant reason for some Hot Coco and a warm fire.

Tina Fey

Tina Fey is so great. And I honestly don't believe she gets enough credit. 30 Rock is the funniest show ever. And I just got back from Megamind where she was the funniest character. So I really think everyone should slow down and take the time to really appreciate Tina Fey. Watch some SNL, some 30 Rock and go see Megamind. Because its super funny, and Tina looks great all animated out. haha

Favorite Person Ever award for sure goes to Tina!!!

Introducing the new Mr. and Mrs. Davidson!!!!!

This day was great, rainy, and oh so joyful. We got a new member in the family, Chipolte, and a sweet dance party. Shooting this wedding was extremely stressful, and yet so much fun. Groomsmen were hilarious, and the Bridesmaids were oh so gorgeous. Courtney and Dirk had huge smiles smeared across there faces all day. It was so fun to see all the pieces of the wedding come together oh so perfectly. Courtney was a wonderful, happy, and uncaring bride to work with. She was just happy that she was married and not the rain, not anything could ruin that. Congrats Dirk and Courtney! I love you both, and I'm so glad I got to be part of your day!

This picture is extremely blurry- but I just love it. And I love that I got everyone to yell and cheer in the temple. Whoops.

One Year.

Plain and Simple I want to be better, I want to be successful, and I want to be the best me possible. So I've decided I need to give photography everything I've got for a full year, and then see how everything feels after that. I'm only 20 years old, it wont be to late to change everything when I'm 21. So in light of this decision. I'm going to try and merge my two blogs. I currently have a personal blog where I post my random thoughts- feelings- and current interests. And this one my photography blog. But Jasmine Star has one blog, and shares everything there, her photography, her dog, her life, and that is where she gives out helpful hints for beginners like me. So here is something from one of her latest post. Which sparked this change. So here I am. I hope you can learn more about me as a person, photographer, and as a lover of life.

"This is the cornerstone. Of my business. Of my life. When I first started my business, I was one of hundreds of thousands who was trying to do the same. However, everyone else had everything better. A nicer camera, car, studio, sample albums, computer, lenses, lifestyle...nicer everything. And I had Polo. And a part-time job, an 11-inch MacBook, one 2G memory card, and a lot of heart. To put it plainly, I couldn't compete playing the established game.
So I changed the game.
Instead of resting on the laurels of things that purportedly made me a professional (camera, studio, lenses, etc), I simply showcased who I was. That's it. Where others showcased their everythingness, I merely wrote about life. My life. What I ate for dinner. The Lakers jersey I bought for Polo. Tropical Island lotion. You know, LIFE ALTERING THINGS.
And yet, strangely, it worked. Being myself on the web--on my website, blog, Facebook, and Twitter--has given people more than enough information to Like me or Dislike me. Both outcomes are fine with me.
I've come to believe when running a niche business, giving prospective clients an opportunity to connect (liking what you like, laughing at your jokes, sharing idiosyncrasies) or repel (they don't like Britney Spears, think you're as humorous as a door knob, think you're just weird) is worth its weight in gold."

Blattner Family

Thank you Blattner Family! This family is just so wonderful. They have the sweetest kids, and the coolest parents. We decided to go downtown to show a different side of this beautiful city we live in. And it was so much fun, to many of the pictures were blurry because I couldn't stop laughing. As you can see, this family is so much fun. So thank you again, for such a fun time!

High-school Drop Out Session!

My sister is proud to be a drop out. She decided she could do bigger and better things with her time, and she is right. She is now a college student at PCC. Had her first day today, and is so excited to continue. She is such a goal driven girl, and I'm so proud of her.
Here are just a few I took of my Beautiful sister.

Now kids...this may make Dropping out of school look glamorous but its not.
